Blazons of Germany - T
This collection presents 434 German-linked shield entries beginning with T from Johannes Baptista Rietstap’s Armorial Général. The blazons are translated into English with heraldic abbreviations written out in full.
Localities and family branches identify the particular arms recorded. Distinct versions included in this selection are kept separate, and every surname heading ends with Coat of Arms. This is a selected collection, not a complete transcription of every T entry in Rietstap.
Scope and reading: The series includes entries associated with Germany and historical German states and regions. Historical labels such as Prussia and Silesia are retained; they do not describe modern borders or establish a single nationality. The descriptions are shield blazons; crests, helmets, mantling and supporters are omitted. Unspecified tinctures are not invented. Arms belong to particular armigerous families and branches, rather than everyone sharing a surname.
Sources: Rietstap’s Armorial Général, second edition, volume I and volume II. Each entry links to its original page. The Enquerre Rietstap index was used as a finding aid and transcription reference.
